- A stakeholder orientation workshop was conducted for 31 participants representing the different affiliated groups of the federation to bring everybody on board. The sensitization dealt with the reaffirmation the goal and objectives of the project, the implementation arrangement, the scheduled project activities, the planned outputs, the indicators, the role and responsibility of each stakeholder and monitoring and evaluation schedules.

- A portion of the federation garden in the village of Kiang Nema in the Lower River Region was selected as he training site for the project where all the training sessions and the field demonstration of technologies and innovations would be carried out.A small portion of the garden was fenced off for crop demonstration purposes.

- A concrete lined well was dug and a greenhouse was constructed to raise crops under controlled environments.

- Seedlings were also raised in the garden for live fencing of the various gardens belonging to the federation in the different villages.

- A compost pit was also constructed to produce compost for vegetable production and thus phase out the use of agrochemicals. This was considered an important activity as it was aimed at demonstrating the use of cheap,affordable, use to make soil improvement materials that is less harmful to humans and the environment. - A Training of Trainers (TOT) on organic farming was conducted for 90 women of the federation.

- A loan resolving fund amounting to GMD100, 000 was initiated and the whole amount transferred into the federations, saving account. These funds were earmarked to serve as startups for the business undertakings related to vegetable production and will be used on a revolving basis for the membership.

- A Business Development Plan was initiated for the federation members who are engaged in vegetable production.The plan also included small business enterprise value additions to enhance the marketability of their produce.

- 4 neem oil extracting machines were purchase through a contract awarded to a local manufacture. The neem extraction machine would be used to extract oil from the neem seeds which would be used to formulate organic pesticides for use on the vegetables, thus eliminating the use of chemical pesticides. Upon delivery of the 4 machines, 45 women were trained on their use, including care and maintenance.

- Upon completion of the training, dried neem seeds were made available through another contract to a local.

- Assorted vegetable seeds consisting of 7 varieties, were purchased and supplied to the women. Other garden tools were also purchased and supplied to the women including wheel barrows, spades, rakes, shovels, hand forks, watering cans, measuring tapes and knapsack sprayers.

- A training on processing and preservation techniques was conducted for 30 members of the federation who would then go out to their respective communities and serve as trainers for the rest of their members. A total of 200 members of the federation were trained through this arrangement. The training addressed the issues of wastage in vegetables, enhancing the marketability of vegetables, transforming vegetables through value additions, marketing strategies and record keeping.

- A governance training was conducted for the Federation Executives in order to improve the operational efficiency of the federation.
