"Community bee conservation efforts aimed at conserving and protecting biodiversity by means of modern bee farming in rural communities in the Lower River Region of The Gambia".
The project aims to reduce poverty by promoting biodiversity conservation by restoring ecosystem services and functions through environmentally ?friendly bee farming systems in 6 rural communities in the Lower River Region of The Gambia.
The project has 3 specific objectives:

1.To establish 6 modern and environmentally friendly bee apiaries will be constructed in six communities of Karantaba,Genierri, Sankwia, Jaabisa, Jassong and Sutukung in the Lower River Region to directly benefit 240 youths

2. To build the capacity of 48 youth groups who will receive technical training on beekeeping and bee product processing and value addition to enhance income

3. To establish 2 bee product outlets in 2 strategic locations in the region for the sale of honey and bee value addition products by the end of the project
