- The project aims to build the capacity of Fangsoto farmers Federation members who are engaged in vegetable production across the West Coast Region. Their skills will be enhanced on all aspects of vegetable production aimed at offsetting the impacts of climate change.

- A project sensitization meeting with stakeholders and Fangsoto Executive members was held on 26 August 2019 and partners from the Village Development Committee of Kafuta village, the Village Head, the Agricultural Extension Agent for the area, a representative from trust Agency for Rural Development - another national NGO to discuss and raise awareness on the planned project activities and expected outcomes and results.

- A key activity of the project involved the construction of a tunnel house at the federation's demonstration farm in the village of Kafuta village.the tunnel technology is like a simplified greenhouse where the environment is controlled in terms of temperature, humidity and pests. It enables the federation members to be engaged in continuous vegetable production for 12 months of the year.

- The next stage of the project involved running a series of training sessions on modern vegetable production so that the activity would be carried out all year round as opposed to the present status quo where production is restricted only to the dry period of the year. The basis of the training was the promotion of organic farming whereby crop yields would be increased using only non chemical inputs in the farming system. A total of 48 affiliated members representing the different membership of the federation underwent the training programmes to enhance their skills in horticulture. At the conclusion of the training, the group acquired the necessary skills to enhance their crop productivity.

- Each of the 48 groups trained would then go on to serve as Training- of- Trainers (TOTs) in their respective communities hoping to train additional members of the group on the new skills. It is estimated that each member would train at last 10 new members thus bringing the total number of members trained to 480 persons.

- Assorted vegetable seeds and garden tools were procured and distributed among the different federation groups so that they can engage themselves in the technology they have acquired from the training sessions.

- Another training session on food processing and preservation techniques was organized on 15th February 2020 for the same 48 members of the federation at the federation garden in the village of Bulock. The training was geared towards addition value to produce through products transformation and preservation. This objective was help ensure longer life shelves for the produce and earring capacity of the federation members.

- A field day was organized to bring together the different groups to share and exchange experiences and good practices acquired during project execution.It was a highly interactive session and ended by commitments to adhere and practice the skills acquired.
