The project will cover universities in Beijing, Hangzhou in Zhejiang province, Yan'an city in Shannxi province, Shenzhen and Guangzhou city in Guangdong province and Nanjing city in Jiangsu province.

Main problems:
There are over 2000 colleges and universities in China. They all have the similar functions including residence area, leisure area, classroom buildings and offices, dining area etc. Campus is a place with intensive energy consumption. A study in 2105 shows that the energy consumption per capita in campus reaches 0.775t coal equivalent. It's estimated that at least 200million people living in campus, which means campus energy consumption can reach 150million tons of coal equivalent. On the one hand, due to defective energy consumption data statistic, data analysis is limited. On the other hand, lacking awareness of energy consumption management brings big difficulty for energy monitoring and designing energy conservation actions.

Solutions/activities:
1. Organize 'Zero Carbon Campus Week' campaign in 40 colleges or universities
2. Compile domestic and international successful cases of campus energy conservation and emission reduction and develop a guideline of zero carbon campus path way
3. Conduct energy consumption evaluation for selected colleges or universities; communicate with universities' management team and facilitate them to adopt energy conservation proposals; demonstration transformation activity of energy conservation in one university
4. Promote and outreach low carbon concept through social media, video and student groups

Anticipated results/outcomes:
1. Over 4000 people in 40 universities/colleges awareness on low carbon transformation enhanced
2. A report of domestic and international successful cases of campus energy conservation and emission reduction and a guideline of zero carbon campus path way developed and disseminated to 900 people
3. about 3 energy consumption baseline evaluation reports completed and 2 energy conservation proposals adopted by universities/colleges; through energy conservation transformation, 10% energy consumption reduced in demonstrated university; 50 management in 10 universities/colleges influenced by low carbon idea.
