Improving Livelihoods that Depends on Traditional Pasture Systems
The project aims to strengthen and support the pastoral communities' ability to protect and use their land in a sustainable manner, in order to enhance livelihoods and enable the pastoral community to continue to practice the traditional grazing practices that are practiced over the millennia. The Ain Ghazal Society is implementing this project within the Hamra Ma'in area located on the western slopes of the Madaba Governorate overlooking the Dead Sea. The area of Ein Ghazal is adjacent to the environmental area of Hamra Ma'in (9,000 dunums) In order to reduce the pressure on natural pastures and contribute to reduce the erosion of soil and increase the rate of soil conservation of water, and thus increase the green biomass, which contribute to increase the proportion of carbon and contribute to the mitigation of the effects of climate change.
