Specific Objectives and Expected Outcomes:
Objective 1: Enhancing the capacity of stakeholders in the chain of peanut production, processing and marketing;
Outcome 1.1: Plans for the establishment of peanut production, processing and marketing chains have been developed for the three districts in the project area;
Based on the survey of local agricultural cooperatives and enterprises, and available data on the current local peanut production, local policies and directions, on-going programs and projects related to local peanut production, it is expected that the plans be developed respectively for the three districts: Tay Son (Binh Dinh province), Dong Xuan (Phu Yen province), Cam Lo (Quang Tri) in the 2020-2025 period.
Expected Outputs: Improved capacity for the project stakeholders
? The capacity to develop the peanut production, processing and marketing chain (associated with branding goods) be strengthened for 250 people (of which women account for 50%) from local enterprises, co-operatives and relevant stakeholders in Binh Dinh, Phu Yen and Quang Tri provinces.

? The training on VietGAP-based peanut production, processing and marketing chains, associated with goods branding, be provided for 900 local farmers.
Objective 2: Developing a sustainable and effective of peanut production, processing and marketing chain.
Expected Outputs:
? Three models of VietGAP-based peanut production, processing and marketing chains shall be developed in an area of 30 ha to increase income by 20% (higher than before the project) for local farmers, especially female and ethnic minorities, and supply adaquate raw peanuts for local businesses/cooperatives involving in the chain.
The five-hectare model for a commercial peanut production, processing and marketing chain shall be developed for each of communes in the project area to cultivate two crops per year. Based on results of the completed projects, this project should only aim to support local farmers in improvement of peanuts? quality in order to meet the VietGAP standard through the adoption of biological products and organic fertilizers.
The project is designed to establish VietGAP standardized peanut farming areas which supply good-quality raw materials to local businesses for processing and marketing at stable prices. It is expected that the project would enable local farmers to increase the profit by 20%, thanks to increased productivity and higher prices of VietGAP standardized peanuts (over VND 1,000 - 2,000/kg). Local businesses would benefit from a stable supply of raw peanuts to develop their strategies for peanut processing and marketing, thus ensure the sustainability of peanut production, processing and marketing chains.
Expected Output:
Three local enterprises and/or cooperatives shall be provided with the support in branding their goods associated with the peanut production, processing and marketing chains.
? In each province/district/commune, the quality standard for one product processed from VietGAP peanuts by local enterprises and/or cooperatives involved in the chain, shall be developed.
? In each province/district/commune, the trademark shall be used for goods/products produced by local enterprises and/or cooperatives involved in the chain.
