Domil land degradation and sustainable forest management project
Domil land degradation and sustainable forest management project
This project will seek to engage with the 200 households within the Domil community to establish a Sustainable Forest and Land Management system with controlled methods and innovations which the land and forest owners will appreciate. The commmunity have already been a beneficiary of a Millenium Development Goal UNDP initiative to establish downstream processing of poultry and casava and are now looking to improve and introduce agro-ecological farming systems to locals, who are facing increase of unsustainable farming practices, land shortage and potential for conflict with land-use due to growing populations. This project will look into developing and adopting relevant and appropriate approaches to land and forest use with minimal damage or threat to the land, environment and its habitat.
