Enhance Climate Smart Agricultural Practices for Sustainable Development in Rukessa Sukie Kebele
The shortage of animal fodder will be alleviated through introducing new varieties and improving existing animal fodder both on communal land and on individual farmers land by introducing cut and carry system. The DEPC established by the farmers of Hawassa zuria woreda Rukessa Sukie Kebele to tackle the problems through approaches of no free distribution of any project input, mobilizing regular savings from each members, leveraging the additional resources from OMFI, working closely with the concerned government offices, engaging business types activities, using revolving fund system to address more members, strengthen the CBOs through capacity development and soon.

The project contributes to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Goal 13 Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts and Goal 15 Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss and SGP-OP6 immediate strategy 1: Community land escape/ water escape conservation and Immediate strategy 2: Climate Smart Agricultural practices outside Protected Areas
