Strengthen Community Conservation for Biodiversity Protection in Kerepua through improving community water supply system.
erepua village a remote village is within the newly National Registered conservation area for protection of endemic bird areas. The lack of proper water supply system for the rural communities posed social and economical challenges leading to environmental threat when people primarily depended on the natural forest and marine areas for food and income. The project is to improve the water supply system by providing additional storage for gravity fed system water supply for drinking, washing and small scale fishery aquaculture for household income. The project will raise awareness on climate change in the communities through local demonstration of soil erosion control using Vertiver grass within the watershed area.
