Project sustainability
All the selected projects should be financially viable (at least from the perspectives of operational expenses), which ensures the sustainability of those ventures, besides the Association will provide continues support and business coaching by multiplying the chances of business success. The Association will continue the practice beyond the lifespan of the project, extending the model to other communities of Armenia. The strategy is in line with the mission and priorities of SME Association and will be replicated further. In addition, worth to mention, that the Association already has some preliminary arrangements with Environmental Projects implementation unit, UNDP Women Empowerment and Gender Equality Program, UMCOR Armenia and other organizations on the exchange of similar experience and replication of the project.
Gender Focus
As part of this project, the Association will target at women breaking the conventional belief that women do not make successful entrepreneurs, and supporting women to overcome the glass ceiling by providing an easy access to traditionally inaccessible consulting and financial resources and ultimately by posting such access online. At least three pilot projects are envisaged to be implemented by women entrepreneurs through the course of the project. Additionally, the opportunity will be made accessible to a wider group by online and offline engagement and dissemination of open source business models.
