The project is planned to be implemented in Heyuan village Committee of Jiuhe township. Heyuan village Committee is located in the hinterland of Laojun mountain, the natural heritage of Sanjiangyuan area. The average sea area is 2700 meters. the whole village covers 7100 mu of arable land and 130000 mu of forest land. Heyuan village Committee has 14 villagers' groups, with 512 households and 2176 people. The average income per capita is 916 USD per capita.

Main problems:
1. Energy resources for cooking, heating and hot water of villagers in daily life mainly depends on firewood which has resulted in deforestation, frequent occurrence of natural disasters such as mudslides and landslides in communities, as well as excessive emission of greenhouse gases.
2. Traditional production methods and lifestyle of the project community consumes natural resources and wastes a lot of labor of the villagers. The proportion of input and output of villagers is seriously unbalanced. Excessive livelihood pressure has led to the gradual marginalization of women in development.

Solutions and activities:
1. Solar water heaters will be demonstrated and installed in villagers' households. The management team assists the supplier in installing them, and evaluation will be carried out to monitor the effectiveness of the heaters.
2. Organize community capacity building training on climate change.
3. Encourage communities to establish ecological protection systems and form effective enforcement and supervision mechanisms.

Anticipated results:
1. By using solar water heaters, each household will reduce its firewood consumption by 3 tons per year, each household will reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by 3.31 tons (total of 400 tons).
2. By using solar water heater, it saves an average of 30 labors per year, each of which is about 80 yuan, and 121 households create an extra value of about 290,400 yuan per year.
