Climate Change Research Education and Public Outreach
A lack of awareness about climate change impacts highlight the need for a variety of approaches that help reduce vulnerability to weather and climate extremes, including adaptive capacity education, public planning processes, private initiatives, and government policies.
To encourage and support the participation of underrepresented groups (particularly young-adult women) in climate change scholarship through paid research internship
To engage the general public, government agencies/institutions, schools, commercial enterprises and NGOs per risk of climate change and/or extreme weather events.
To collect relevant activity and perceptions data from/about residents as to produce unique miniature reports designed to help improve adaptiveness and resilience towards the creation of an educational framework for adaptive capacity education
To analyze collated data en masse as to create policy-relevant reports that include critical information from/about/for local residents
To contribute to generalizable knowledge and research about climate change by leveraging research findings and highlighting the significance of research.
To educate and/or make aware the risk of a change in climate and associated roles in adapting to impacts, particularly among disadvantaged/vulnerable groups, i.e. children, elderly, poor, infirmed
