Revival of endangered plant species in Kuhsalan and Shahu through traditional local knowledge and participatory conservation approach and sustaiable livelihoods of Hooraman villages
Hooramanat region of Kurdistan is the habitat for over 30 endemic species of plants that are globally important. This project aims to focus on Kuhsalan Protected Area and help revive the endangered flora using indigenous knowledge and participatory approach. The project will plant 50000 saplings of Eastern redbud (Arghavan tree) and build a CCA (4ha) to protect the Mountain Celery and Orchids. The project will also enhance biodiversity and promote sustainable livelihoods.
