To strengthen the forest stewardship and environmental governance at voluntary action level by empowerment of new environmental champion & selected communities in Northern Peninsular Malaysia
One of the major cause of dramatic decrease in forest cover and biodiversity in Peninsular Malaysia happen due to the unsustainable development projects & poor decision making that somehow cause by poor governance in forest management, lack of public consultation/participation & poor environmental democracy.
A significant changes and improvement in forest governance & deceleration in forest & biodiversity loss can be seen by the increase of active participation from society (local community or other public members) in ensuring forest stewardship by becoming voluntary forest monitor, taking progressive action, well-educated in forest rights & outstanding political will in forest protection.
The aim of the project is to strengthen the forest stewardship and environmental governance at voluntary action level by empowerment of new environmental champion & selected communities in Northern Peninsular Malaysia
