Saving Shah Alam Community Forest
The Bukit Cherakah forest patch is not fully protected and existing development plans threaten to further forest loss and fragmentation that will lead to a decline in biodiversity as well as a loss of a recreation site used by the local community for exercise and education. This project will raise awareness of the threats to the forest and plans to lead to decision makers adopting a roadmap to the creation of a community forest that will safeguard the ecology of the site while providing recreational and education benefits for the community.
