Cultivation of Industrial Hemp for Environmental Protection in Kabul
The project is focused on
protecting the environment and strengthen local economy through cultivation of industrial Hemp plants. Industrial hemp or Cannabis sativa L. is a quick growing, annual herb with a multitude of uses covering a range of products derived from fiber or oil-seed that have been known throughout the history. The project will set a model to control deforestation, soil erosion, reduce siltation of waterways, increase carbon sinks, introduce a new alternative for making papers. Through the project, women will be trained to make rope and a number of other products as mean for their livelihoods.
