1. Context:
The Mongo wa Mono Forest, is the forest which is degraded without any indigenous communities Security, so this project is note Mongo wa Mono Forest in Yaeda ya chini ward, has very moderate ability in near future of maintaining biodiversity accelerated by indigenous communities who intensively use it in unsustainable manner, hunter and gatherers ancient homeland forest there is less sustainable measure of secure Forest to rescue this worsening situation manifested by several closely deforestation for poor conservation practices, leading to decline in soil fertility and wild fruits and roots yield, siltation of water reservoirs, declining water quality; hence famine and poverty. Lack of sufficient, low income in the Forest around, and low participation in traditional practices e.g. patrols
Need solution: Tanzania Pastoralist Hunters and Gathers Organization(TAPHGO) is now committed and initiated a one-year plan for indigenous communities at Mongo wa Mono forest Ancient Homeland forest reforestation programme, seriously and practically tackle this problem. TAPGHO will initiate conservation Areas and develop activities by provide the education-based forest management for Indigenous communities, conservation strategies that will be undertaken in the communities around the forest, Participatory Rural Appraisals (PRAs) will facilitate the preparation of forest by-laws, resource utilization by laws and active community participation in enhancing Forest security and natural resources around the forests conserved by indigenous
Communities, TAPGHO with its partners the government institutions in this project, the village Government and traditional leaders, the government department duty bearers from forestry, environment and the local communities as the main beneficiaries. CBOs and Mass media will also be important collaborators. Will undertake several studies on Hunters-Gatherers and their dependency on forest so as to establish them with sustainable alternative source of food and energy like fuel wood also studies in wood consumption survey of the communities around Mongo wa Mono forest as well as undertake studies related to social, ecological and cultural values of people on forest uses. All these studies will be undertaken with the objectives of yielding information for forest planning and management as well as community development strategies.
2. About the Proponent
TAPGHO is a legal entity Non-profit making organization, Non-political, Non-Religion and Non-Governmental Organization. It was established in July 2000 registered under societies ordinance on 30 July 2002 with the registration NO.11566 it is an umbrella pastoralist and hunters gatherers organization having 42 Members who are sparsely all over Tanzania. It is based in Arusha region with likeminded Civil societies Organization (CSOs) Communities Based Organization (CBO) in Tanzania to tackle issues affecting Sustainable pastoralism.

TAPHGO is also dedicated to work with Indigenous communities minority pastoralists, hunters and gatherers in Tanzania, is working for the betterment of basic education and environmental conservation support, and also to offer the communities opportunities of training the communities running of projects implemented, natural resources, social cultural conservation Areas like Forest Conservation and more recently, it has been realize environment issues like management Areas for Forest Reserve, at Mongo wa Mono forest and water sources reserve that become an important aspect of forest conservation.

Before this project, TAPHGO successes to implement the project on Pastoralist Programme (PP) from Care International in 2016 Longido District andCapacity Development in the Energy Sector and Extractive Industries (CADESE) from UNDP in 2016-2017Longido District at (Tingatinga and Ngereyani Villages) to Pastoralist Communities in Longido Villages that change attitude and towards the pastoralist to understanding of Climate change.
3. Project?s Primary Objective:
Main objective
Sustainable natural, social and cultural heritage in the eco-system managed by local communities through participatory manner, raising the livelihood of Indigenous People in 300 inhabitants? adjacent hunter-gatherer ancient homeland forests of Mongo wa Mono.

Specific objectives
1. Reducing dependency on the natural resources by enhancing alternative income generation activities and secure long-term viable market for social and cultural goods as well as photos and cultural tourism activities.
2. Effective management and conservation of Natural resources by indigenous people in order to preserve their forest through traditional practice trainings youth as arm of Hunters and Gatherers Communities by secure their Forest.
3. Improved income of Indigenous community like hunter-gatherers at Mongo wa mono Forest.
