Preventing Land Degradation through Green Infrastructure Technology *Note: Originally PLW/SGP/OP6/Y5/STAR/2019/06
The Ngermechau Klobak Association, with the help of the Ngiwal State Government, began
constructing a Multipurpose Community Center in Ngermechau, Ngiwal. The community
center will be utilized by all citizens and residents of the state once it has been completed in
April 2018.
Before the community center can be fully commissioned, the land around the center must be
properly secured so that it does not erode causing structural damages to the community
center.
The community center, built on a small hill in Ngermechau, is vulnerable to structural damage
due to soil erosion.
If this issue isn?t mitigated immediately, the Ngermechau Klobak Association and the Ngiwal
State Government will have lost a sizeable investment and a possible means to generating
income to the citizens of Ngiwal.
