Sustainable Coastal Resources Management and Restoration for the livelihood of poor fishermen, particularly women in Kampot province.
The project is aiming at building capacity of Community Fisheries to make use and sustainable manage of 577 hectares of Community Fishing ground by supporting the development of Community Based Eco-tourism, building basic CBET infrastructures and marketing of CBET Areas to outsiders. The project also supports CFi committee members to earn more income through providing support to set up three Fish (Checkered Snapper/Humpback red snapper) Raising cages (3 m x 4 m) and one hectares of cockle raising areas, so that they can use the income for conservation of their fishing ground including 72 hectares Mangrove areas. In order to increase quality of mangrove forest, project also support CFi committee to nursery and plant more than 10,000 small mangrove trees in the degraded areas. Regular patrolling of the Community fishing ground is also support by project and related stakeholders. Documentation of lesson learns and good practices also part of this project.
