Tonle Sap Lake conservation and management for Improve community livelihood through establish of CPA and Community base natural tourist development.
The project is aiming at supporting the legalization of Koh Tonlekras Community Protected Areas which located inside the multiple use of Tonle Sap lake in order to get official recognition from Ministry of Environment (MoE) to manage 4,732 hectares of fishing ground included flooded forest. Project also support community to develop CPA management plan and build capacity of more than 180 (95 are women) CPA committee members to participate in implementing key activities list in CPA management plan such as strengthening and regular patrolling fisheries ground/conservation areas, develop 4 community fisheries conservation sites (6 ha) and planting 5,000 flooded trees in 15 ha of degraded areas. Moreover, 2,883 households will increase their income at least 200$ per family by development of Community Based Ecotourism and sustainable use of fisheries resources through providing Ecotourism services, establishing and running Women Green Economy groups for collecting buy and processing fisheries products from their CPA members. In order to ensure that the wastes from CBET activities as well as from household use will not be throwing into the fisheries ground, project have organized Waste Management group to educate CPA members and regular clean the Areas. Documentation of lesson learns and good practices also part of this project.
