?Integration of traditional practices and scientific methods, strengthening capacity of local specialists and increasing awareness of local people in conservation of biodiversity and environment (Kulun-Ata reserve, Kongduk village, Osh province)?
The goal of the project is to integrate traditional mechanisms of environment protection into the protection practice of Kulun-Ata State Reserve in Osh province, as well as increase awareness of local communities and their engagement into environment protection to ensure sustainability.

The key activities include the following:
? Identify and document traditional mechanisms on environment protection through field studies with involvement of 10 students and 2 teachers.
? Train community members and rangers on integration of conventional and traditional methods of biodiversity and environment conservation. There will be trainings on such topics as traditional ecology, biodiversity and ecosystems, sustainable development, climate change, household wastes, livelihood impacts on environment. To address the problem of organic wastes, community members will be trained on composting.
? Publish a book on sacred sites and animals of Alai-Kuu as a mechanism for protecting the environment, which will be provided to the local school libraries and a children camp.
? Provide local rangers of the reserve with equipment to improve their performance.
