Hosting natural landscape, richness of flora and fauna, and developing transportation means cause increasing recreation activities in recent years in Bey?ehir Lake National Park(BLNP) which is located in the transition zone between Mediterranean and Central Anatolia. Quite a few scientific studies on the flora and fauna of the BLNP basin are available in the literature (Serin, M., Çetik, A. R.,1984 ; Küçükhödük, M., 1987 ; Çetik, A. R.,1987).

Due to presence of recreation sites such as picnic area, beach and the diversity of species surrounding Ye?ilda? District located on the southwest coast of the Lake are the place where the development of eco-tourism activities is expected soon. Therefore, it is envisaged that the visitors will be concentrated in this area. Besides, approximately 80 Km2 wide area between Ye?ilda? and Kurucuova Districts has a rich flora as it is located on the transition zone between Mediterranean and ?rano-Turanian phytogeographic regions (Serin, M., Çetik, A. R.; 1984). For these reasons, in addition to determining the main patches of habitats in line with current land use patterns and this region should be primarily studied and Bey?ehir Region and its nature should be introduced in order to establish further habitat and species biodiversity conservation activities in future.

In this context, inventory of the flora of this area between Ye?ilda? and Kurucuova Districts which has been designated as the project area will be made up. Photos of flora will be compiled in a catalog. Additionally, as a part of the project, some physical protection measures like placing info boards for visitors where fragile species exist. However, the pressures mechanisms on ecosystem will be determined predominantly, and a basis, a reference (at the time-dependent comparison level) for future surveillance will be formed, so that the ecological footprints of the activities in the region will be presented as a model in the region and at country scale. Also, in this project, the young handicapped people who attend the project , instructors, nature walkers and university studens will visit the places where sensitive species situate. During Nature Visits in Bey?ehir, together with handicapped youths, volunteers from ANFODER Association, instructors, nature walkers and university students will take photos, shoot videos and search for the printed materials and state the natural beauties of BEY?EH?R. Collected data, photos samples of plants will be introduced throughout the province and the country with the young handicapped people?s enterprising undertanding. Also Bey?ehir Region Introduction Office will be opened next to the Down Cafe in Ere?li to introduce the region to the people in Ere?li.

All these activities will be done together with the students who have Down Syndrome and who are mentally handicapped. So we aim to do two things together ; creating awareness of disability and the importance of environment. Also we also focus on the education and job facilities of mentally handicapped students.
