Smarter Consumption of Marine Products
Seafood is the food source of millions of people living on the coastal sites. Salaries of app. 200 thousand people is coming from fishing in the Mediterranean basin. Today, 80% of fish resources in the Mediterranean face the threat of overfishing. This threat is growing due to climate change, invasive species and illegal fishing. It is very important that amateur groups such as consumers and anglers take action, create a movement through innovative communication ways that increase social awareness and contribute to the solution of problems in this way. With this project proposal, it is aimed to provide consumer support to sustainable fishery and to engage anglers in nature-friendly activity in the fight against invasive species and to implement both activities with replicable and extensible methods.
