From Garbage to Soil
From Garbage to Soil
The project, aims to create an example on mitigating and adapting to climate change by focusing on the organic household waste and food?s carbon footprint problems.

?stinye P?nar Mahallesi has been chosen as the pilot area for the project. P?nar Mahallesi is an economically disadvantaged neighborhood, that is home to different social and cultural groups. Throughout its recent history P?nar Mahallesi, has been a place for urban farming mainly growing salad greens and strawberries.

The project has 2 main targets. First, 15 households will be selected and the women from these households will be trained and given the necessary equipment to start turning their waste to soil by using bokashi composting method. By this we aim to prevent 4 tons of waste going to landfills in 9 months.
