Community-based Forest Management Project (CFMP) in Agbado-Ekiti Community, Ekiti State, Nigeria
This project aims at developing a community forest management action plan for Agbado-Ekiti community. By committing a 1.2 Hectare forest towards the project, the project will train and establish a Community Forest Management Committee (CFMC) with the capacity to prepare Community Forest Management Plans (CFMPs) as well as implement CFMPs/business plans. The project will also empower the CFMCs to engage in discussions and advocacy on Natural Resource Management for Agbado-Ekiti Community. In order to build resilience, the project will establish Self Help Groups (SHGs) made up of men, women and youths, train them with the capacity to operate revolving funds and to provide micro credits to members thus implementing a sustainable micro enterprises. Famer Producer Groups (FPGs) will also be established with the have the capacity to organize common marketing of Non-timber-based products for their members.

Inovative Financial Mechanisms
Electronic dissemination of information, a compendium of project success stories will be produced including banners and flyers to showcase the project. We are also proposing publication in a peer-reviewed journal. Apart from the above-mentioned, we will produce Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials (including T-shirts and Face caps) for participating members of the community to also showcase the project.

Meetings and advocacy visits are all conducted in the dialect of the people of the community.
