Transfering Day (Ampelopsis cantoniensis (Hook.et Arn) Planch) tea planting techniques for minority ethnics in order to establish efficient and sustainable value chains in medical herb production towards improved livelihoods and reduced exploitation of forest resources in An Toan commune, An Lao District, Binh Dinh province.
The project is aimed at transferring techniques of Day tea cultivation and harvesting, establishing value chains in efficient and sustainable production and consumption in order to improve livelihoods of Ba Na Ethnic minorities, conserve local herbal medicines and reduce exploitation pressure on nature forests in An Toan Commune, An Lao district, Binh Dinh province.

Specific activities include:
i. Conducting surveys on natural location of Day Teas in the project area of An Toan commune, An Lao district, which will then inform the selection of model implementation sites and proposing the replication plan.
ii. Training on techniques of planting, harvesting the Day Teas along with conserving the indigenous medicinal herbal trees in the natural forest of An Toan commune.
iii. Training on techniques of planting, harvesting and preserving the Day Tea trees for households in An Toan Commune
iv. Developing the model of seedlings, cultivation, harvesting and preserving the Day Tea trees in order to maintain the seedlings source for households in An Toan commune.
v. Developing the model of pre-processing, processing and commercializing An Toan Day Tea products in Bidiphar Medicinal Herb Workstation in An Toan Commune.
vi. Establishing the Community Fund for preserving and developing indigenous Day Tea trees.
vii. Project Review and documentation.
