Within the framework of the project, the work on arrangement of the fenced highly productive cultivated pastures using agricultural technologies is in progress: minimal tillage, direct sowing of forage grasses, irrigation with drum-type rain-makers and sprinklers.
A soil and geobotanical survey of pastures was carried out with determination of their initial productivity and feed capacity.
Sowing of forage grasses was carried out on degraded lands of 40 hectares.
2500 meters of pastures are fenced off with the use of an electric shepherd for organizing rationed grazing on cultivated pastures.
Priority areas of approaches recommended for inclusion in the Pasture Management Plan for 2020-2022 have been prepared. An agreement was reached with the leadership of the South-West Research Institute of Livestock and Crop Production to jointly hold a seminar to disseminate the successful results of the Project.
The following events are scheduled:
foundation of a Public Association of Pasture Users in accordance with the requirements of the New Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan ?On Pastures?
organizing the withdrawal of livestock of local communities to the created irrigated cultivated pastures and approbation of mechanisms for effective management of pasture resources (normative grazing, payment for pastures, payment to a shepherd, sales of products, etc.)
