The project address the outcome of maintaining globally significant biodiversity and the ecosystem goods and services that it provides to society advocating at the local level for protection of coral reef for recovery of local fishery stock. Project Characteristics and Results
Gender Focus
Although the meeting house is for the women to manage the use, income generated from the house will be shared among the families of which both men and women in households will benefit from the funds generated through the use of the house. Much of the construction work of the house and the electrical installation is men job while the women will help to make the food for the labour on the construction. The establishment of the environmental art gallery will involve all men and women to research and decision on what to put up on the wall that is for public educational and appropriate to the local cultural protocols when handling especially the cultural arts. The project funds will be managed by the women whom will be responsible for the reporting of the progress of the project on the ground.
Capacity - Building Component
Education centre with environmental education information and for hosting local and national environmental education meetings.The space for users of the centre and a working and meeting space for the local women whom often not always participate in public meetings.
