Existing Pineapple farming practices throughout Vanuatu is generally based on traditional farming skills and knowledge primarily for subsistence purposes with surplus production is sold in local niche markets. Although pineapple crop is well understood for its resilience to climate change and natural disasters such as cyclones, its healthy nutritional values and economy potential has not been fully exploited by rural communities. The Project aims to transform traditional Pineapple farming practices with new pineapple farming methods taken into consideration the environmental and Socio-Economic aspects.
