It is registered under the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Development under the department of office of the district gender and social development officer in Marigat constituency. Nasinya women group encourages women to adopt sustainable agriculture, livestock rearing, soap making, beadwork and hand crafts for the purposes of increasing incomes, food security and enhancing climate change resilience. The group has grown and diversified their activities to include crop farming, cattle and poultry rearing and community sensitization on hygiene and sanitation. Currently it has a current membership of 23 women ranging from 18-70 years.
The main objective of the organization is to initiate, develop and promote sustainable agricultural activities and other nature based activities to generate income; to sensitize the community members of health importance, to build the capacity of the group members on sustainable development and to improve the living standards of the group members through income generating activities given that women are the key players in the community development. For over two decades, the group has been active in cattle production where they purchase mature animals and fatten and sell them to the local beef market. The group has purchased one cow for each group member and over the years, the members have benefitted greatly from these animals more particularly in educating their children and putting up better houses for their families.
