Coast land Erosion Monitoring * Note Originally VUT/SGP/OP6/Yr6/Core/IW/20/14
Vanuatu lowland areas including beaches and littoral vegetation are loss increasing sea level rise and coastline erosion threatening their livelihoods and reducing critical ecosystem functions such as beaches and seagrass beds and coral reef that are important for turtles and many invertebrates and increase their vulnerabilities to climate change negative impacts. The project to address land degradation, soil erosion along the coast lines to conduct surveys on the affected sites, monitor and inform the communities leaders, men, women and youth about these threats and encourage for local decision and their participation for rehabilitation of their shoreline through reforestation.
