Band-e- Amir National Park Conservation
This project is focused on conservation of Band-e-Amir, Afghanistan's first national park. The Band-e-Amir National Park (BANP) is among sites in Bamyan visited by national and international tourists in the summer months when the weather is warm. One of the big issues in BANP is unavailability of proper latrines and waste collection points. The number of latrines are few to provide ease for tourists to avoid open defection in the site. To address the above, the project will construct around 10 eco-friendly latrines and raise the awareness of the communities and tourist. This project will also document the best practices of GEF SGP in Afghanistan by developing project brochures.
