Project Characteristics and Results
Gender Focus
Project operates on the principles of inclusiveness and gender equality at all stages of development, implementation, obtaining information and benefits from the project. The project supports the equality of both women and men in its implementation. It is worth noting, that the project coordinator is a woman and the head of the organization-recipient is a man, so gender balance at the project management level is maintained. The project expert environment is formed on the basis of competitive qualification merits and equal access for both women and men. Results and benefits of the project are equally significant for both women and men. The project participants are mostly young people aged from 16 to 35, with a gender ratio of about 50/50%. The project has provided open access to information and project results to anyone regardless of age, sex and other individual characteristics through open data on online resources and an inclusive approach to organizing events. Moreover, the project disseminated a number of information materials on gender equality, including the GEF SGP course ?Gender and Environment?.
Notable Community Participation
The project has been developed and is being implemented by youth activists with the support of the Center for Civic Education (organization-applicant) and a number of other NGOs and networks, with a particular focus on youth and children's NGOs. Moreover, the project has been supported by a number of secondary and higher education institutions, and comprehensive support has been provided in order to involve schoolchildren and students in project implementation. Moreover, a project coordinator is a local youth activist. She was selected to the GEF SGP Youth Advisory Group.
