Enhancing women’s participation in integrated Natural Farming in Malaysia
The objective of the project is to promote and provide capacity building for integrated natural farming, especially among women. The objective will be achieved through the design and operation of integrated natural farms at two locations, in Wakaf Aik, Kelantan and Sawah Sempadan Selangor. The project will demonstrate how cost of production can be lowered through a systematic energy and resource saving while providing stable streams of income under integrated natural farming. Based on co-created marketing /business models, refinement of final products (packaging, promotion etc.) and business set-up will be developed. Marketing will be based partly on farm-to-plate with digital system support and partly through wholesalers serving the local community. Sharing of the success and lessons learned will be carried out among community members. Finally, further recommendation will be made for inclusion in government development projects/policy.The output of the project which will include guidelines covering lessons learned to be produced will contribute positively to instill Interest to replicate the model by other communities.
