Strengthening communities? role and integrated resources for monitoring fisheries law enforcement to facilitate the combat against IUU fishing.
The project is aimed to improve the effective implementation of 2017 Fisheries Law, eliminate IUU fishing, remove the EU ?yellow card? for fishing in Vietnam towards building a sustainable and responsible fishing in Tan Thuan commune, Ham Thuan Nam district, Binh Thuan province, developing a success model for replication in other localities.
Following activities will be implemented:
Enhancing the role of fishing communities in supporting State management agencies to monitor theimplementation of Fisheries Law, reduce illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing in Tan Thuancommune, Ham Thuan Nam district, Binh Thuan province.
-Facilitating the finalization of appropriate mechanisms and policies which meet requirements to eliminate IUU fishing and strengthen communities? participation in monitoring the fisheries law enforcement in Vietnam.
-Sharing lessons learned, sustaining and replicating the model of "Communities monitoring IUU fishing" to other localities
