Capacity development of rural women through promotion of green entrepreneurship, self-organization and leadership
The project is aimed at capacity development of rural women in Zhytomyr region through promotion of organic beekeeping goods production, green entrepreneurship, business development and marketing technics. To achieve this objective, a social women?s platform will be launched in cooperation with Zhytomyr District Center of Social Services for Families, Children and Youth, and the Radomyshl District Social Service. A team of experts on financial management, legal issues, business development, organic farming and other issues will be formed and provide trainings and regular advisory assistance, using the newly created social women's platform. In addition, some part of the beekeeping products (as food supplements to boost immunity) will be given to women and children with disabilities living in boarding schools and social care institutions.

Project Characteristics and Results
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
1. An online platform "ZHYTOMYRSCHINA: Green Tourism for the Benefit of Environment" (http://green-tour.org.ua) established for local women-entrepreneurs, youth, civil society activists, and potential tourists to promote green tourism opportunities, market locally produced products, exchange experience in women's self-assistance groups regarding farm products of local entrepreneurship.
2. 16 rural women developed capacity for marketing products from their own households, including honey bee products, gained knowledge on developing entrepreneurial activity, in particular, activity of self-assistance groups in communities, including provision of ecosystem services.
3. 9 households increased their incomes through production and marketing products, made by local women, for strengthening immunity (honey, bee bread, bee pollen, propolis, etc.), as well as products for individual protection and a healthy lifestyle (handmade antiseptic laundry soap, protective masks).
4. 240 honey bee product kits for supporting immunity handed over to children with special needs and internally displaced persons: 150 kits ? for children from Donetsk oblast, and 190 kits ? for children from Zhytomyr oblast, as part of the project efforts to support rural women.
5. 4 training seminars held to develop capacity of more than 125 women from Zhytomyr and Donetsk oblasts regarding the issues of green recovery, green entrepreneurship and production of honey bee products, as part of the project efforts to overcome consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Inovative Financial Mechanisms
2000 copies of a brochure on the features of green tourism in Zhytomyr region, using the principles of involving the community and rural women, developed and printed.
1000 sets of ecological game "Green City of the Future" developed and produced.
9. 15 new partnerships with local authorities, civil society organizations, educational institutions and mass media established; sustainability of the project regarding the development of green tourism with the support from the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation ensured.
