Local communities? capacity development and knowledge dissemination on the GEF OP7 priorities
The project is aimed at developing capacities of local communities and SCOs and increasing their knowledge on the GEF SGP priorities, approaches and activities in the new GEF OP7. The project will support community-based initiatives and promote multilateral partnerships to address global environmental issues on the priority landscapes. The main activities will be focused on a new programme directions, such as: sustainable urban solutions, sustainable agriculture, CSOs-government-private sector dialog, etc. The project will actively work to raise public awareness, capacity of CSOs? representatives, involve CSOs in the activities of the GEF SGP in Ukraine in accordance with the new strategic directions and approaches of the GEF SGP in Ukraine. Capacity building of CSOs will be carried out through trainings, seminars and public hearings at the community level on the certain landscapes, conducting research, monitoring and evaluation, development of relevant training materials/modules, participation of representatives of GEF SGP partner communities in joint activities of the UNDP, GEF SGP and CSOs? networks.

Project Characteristics and Results
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
1. The GEF SGP Guidelines adapted in accordance with new approaches in the OP7 in order to expand opportunities and knowledge of communities and CSOs regarding global environmental problems and possibilities of the GEF Small Grants Program in the OP7.
2. A training course ?Green Entrepreneurship?, which provides a step-by-step guidance on how to convert a green business idea into a viable business plan, developed. The course is available in free access on the GEF SGP Knowledge platform http://www.ecoacademy.org.ua/.
3. Participation in the Round table "Partnership between an employer and a higher education institution: training a competitive specialist in the field of social work" (October 28, 2020) ? Certificate of participation received from the Department of Social Rehabilitation and Social Pedagogy of the Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University. As a result, a strategy for interaction between an employer and a higher education institution in the context of dynamic development of a social services? market in Ukraine developed.
4. Co-organization of XX Annual International Conference ?Inclusive Educational Environment? (November 18?19, 2020), attended by scientists, educators, entrepreneurs, industry managers and civil society activists to discuss and find solutions to a wide range of problems of teaching and educating people in an inclusive educational environment. Materials on the theme "Best practices of the UNDP/GEF SGP: a distance training course "Social Inclusion", prepared and presented by the project.
5. Activity of the GEF SGP CSOs networks in Ukraine and their websites www.zelena.org.ua, www.ecoosvita.org.ua, www.sgpinfo.org.ua supported, which will contribute to dissemination of environmental knowledge and experience and strengthen cooperation between civil society and the Global Environmental Fund, following new approaches and GEF mission in the OP7.
6. About 9 new partnerships, in particular with representatives of scientific institutions, universities, public authorities, civil society environmental organizations, mass media, etc., established.
