Strengthening the Economic Capacity of Gender Based Violence Victims to Create Sustainable Livelihoods.
This project will focus exclusively on a vulnerable cohort of the population, that is marginalized and battered women. The project will create an economic opportunity which is carbon neutral and has CC resilience built in. The objectives are as follows: (i) To establish income generating opportunities for women and girls provided through the installation of an agro processing facility; (ii) To promote the use of renewable resources for increased cost efficiencies (solar energy, rain water harvesting) and to build resilience to the negative impacts of climate change; (iii) To strengthen skill and entrepreneurial capacities of rural women and girls for increased employment generating opportunities and income generation; (iv) To enhance knowledge management and sensitization and awareness on the vulnerabilities of women and girls to climate change and in effects and the promotion of mitigating strategies.
