- The project started very well with all the planned activities financed from the 1st grant allocation successfully completed with the desired results..Ten (10) poultry houses were either built or upgraded.

The first batch of (1000 ) one thousand chicks were procured and distributed among the project beneficiaries and all chicks did well with very low mortality. Also procured was one hundred (100) bags of feed that will take the first stock to maturity and ready for sale. Veterinary drugs and other essentials were also procured and administered and this went along with training sessions organised for the association of basic poultry practices for 2 days. Other materials such as drinkers and feeding troughs were also procured and distributed among the 10 poultry houses.

- The 2nd major activity was the improvements carried out in the village garden to which all the association members belong and carry of vegetable production as part of their income diversification strategy. The solar water pump, which was dysfunctional, was successfully replaced and addressed the critical water shortages that had been experienced by the garden.

- The 3rd major activity during the first quarter was the establishment of a tree nursery at the garden where 3, 500 seedlings were propagated. The seedlings will be planted will be used in the poultry back yards during the rainy season to promote better feed management with a conducive environment through the provision of shade from the hot sun.

- The direct project beneficiaries are 54 members of whom 40 are women. The indirect beneficiaries number about 450 members in the community including 10 widows who are marginalized members of the community with limited opportunities to improving their livelihoods.
