Co-developing a Sargassum Adaptive Management Strategy for Barbados
Co-developing a Sargassum Adaptive Management Strategy for Barbados
The overall goal is to assist the government and people of Barbados to be resilient to threats from influxes of sargassum seaweed, adaptively addressing the potential threats with environmentally responsible responses that, where possible, turn sargassum into an opportunity for sustainable development (social, economic, environmental).

? To engage with key non-state and state actors (minimum ~10) relevant to sargassum to determine responses from site to national level necessary to address sargassum as a hazard and reduce the threat.

? To, within the same 3 months as for hazard response, engage with key state and non-state actors relevant to sargassum uses to determine new opportunities from small to large scale.

? To co-develop a Sargassum Adaptive Management Strategy that is multi-level, practical and dynamic, incorporating learning-by-doing to manage sargassum adaptively and responsibly.
