achieved: Reduction in the area of land subject to degradation as a result of forest fires in the project area (territory of Cherikov forestry).
How achieved: Use of innovative equipment purchased as part of the project small forest patrol complexes (SFPC) in the amount of two pieces (one thanks to the project funds and another - from co-financing funds). An information campaign was carried out to prevent the causes of forest fires and to popularize the results of the project among Forestries workers all over the region.
?who? was it achieved for and with: improving the socio-economic living conditions of the local population is inextricably linked with minimizing the consequences of forest fires, preserving biodiversity and soils, which creates conditions for additional income for the local population through picking mushrooms and berries. Ensuring fire safety and prompt elimination of fires in the forest fund has a positive effect on the state of the environment and, consequently, on the health of 13,965 residents. In the autumn and spring periods, the State Forest Institution "Cherikov forestry" actively uses the acquired SFPC for patrolling, delivering people and fire fighting equipment to forest fire sites, carrying out the necessary firefighting work related to the prevention and extinguishing of forest fires. For the period of 2021-2022 13 new forest fires were liquidated in the district.
