Enhanced environmental community - a more responsible society
Tree planting, separate waste collection, use of chemicals in agriculture, burning of vegetation, domestic wastewater, etc. - the Republic of Moldova faces a huge number of environmental problems that require the attitude and involvement of the community.
There is an acute need for information of the population, of an ecological culture of the society, and an important role in this aspect has the non-governmental organizations and the environmental activists.
In the Republic of Moldova, work a significant number of organizations and environmental activists, most of them work with the population, train it and involve it in various environmental actions, depending on specific field of activity. But these actions take place separately, depending on the organization involved, the field of activity and the area of coverage, its communication capabilities, etc. Many environmental aspects, in the interaction with society, are covered disproportionately or not at all.
In order to create an ecological culture, to change people's behavior in relation to the environment, it is necessary to strengthen the efforts of an environmental community.
The project "Enhanced Environmental Community - a more responsible society" addresses the topic of community-based adaptation and consists of supporting the strengthening of the environmental community in the Republic of Moldova, as well as supporting its effective communication with the general public.
In this sense, AJMTEM intends to organize activities on several levels - within the community; from the community to the general public; from the outside, to the community, through the following actions:
The annual World Environment Day festival, a massive event, Open Air and online, with a presence of over 5000 people, with a diverse program (exhibitions, workshops, eco fair, chill and games area, artistic program, etc.) in which members community participates with exhibitions, workshops and various activities for interaction with the public. Thematic team-buildings for environmental community leaders, including GEF SGP Moldova grantors and environmental journalists, where they have the opportunity to get to know each other, make connections, discuss community issues and identify solutions together, to lays the foundations for further collaborations, etc.
Thematic team-buildings for leaders from the environmental community, including SGP Moldova grant holders, in which they have the opportunity to get to know each other, create links, discuss community issues and identify solutions together, lay the foundations for further collaborations, etc. .
