Managing Marine and Costal Biodiversity in the Lake Piso Landscape
for a project, being Capacity development.The overall essence of this project is to support livelihood and promote sustainable use of biodiversity through effective management of natural resources within the lake Piso landscape.Sustainable ecosystem management strategies such as providing alternative livelihood could preserve protected species, mitigate the effect of climate change, deforestation of mangrooves,illegal fishing and hunting as well as providing sustainable livelihood alternatives through the introduction of climate smart agricultural practices, which will have long term positive impact on household economy ,hence community development.The proposed project is in conformity with OP7 which focuses on biodiversity conservation and climate smart actions along the Lake Piso basin.At the endof the Eight months, Biodiversity will be protected, Sustainable food security through improved agriculture practices achieved

Notable Community Participation
An in-depth consultation has already taken place, with discussions beginning in 2020 with community and stakeholders representative. This proposal has evolved as a direct result of that consultation process and a pre-project development visit which was undertaken from September by the project team
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Knowledge transfer and capacity building based on personal involvement of local people are at the heart of this project and hence dissemination is an integral aspect of what is planned.
