Monitoring of Posidonia oceanica meadows in front of Palasa beach and promotion of the values of Posidonia sea grass in coastal ecosystems
P. oceanica meadows are considered among the most representative and important coastal ecosystems of the Mediterranean. Previous studies have documented that Albania has some of the healthiest meadows or ecosystems in the Mediterranean in the Karaburun - Saranda area. These studies "photographed in low resolution" the situation about 10 years ago, while now the urbanization of the coastal area in the south has just begun. This project will provide a high-resolution "photograph" of the so-called "baseline" in the early stages when human disturbance is minimal as is the situation so far in this area.
This project will complement the study conducted by RAC/SPA during 2020 conducted in the same area
