The proposal consists in setting up and test running for one season a differentiated waste collection process from businesses in the city of Saranda. The proposal is coordinated and complementary with a recent GIZ initiative in Albania that consists in increasing waste recycling. GIZ is in agreement with the municipality of Saranda that will install about 200 waste collection points in 200 tourism-oriented businesses. This project will provide support for the equipment and operation of a group of 10 seasonal workers who will serve at least once a day these 200 waste collection & separation points. The separated waste will be transported to the special truck provided by GIZ that will evacuate the waste to the waste recycling yard.
