Youth Development Project to build governance and accountability capacities and to build capacity to identify and address community environment sustainability issues through strategic interventions
This project seeks to develop the range of competencies for youth leaders to implement inclusive,
participatory projects for the protection and conservation of their communities. Competencies will
cover community asset development, and positive youth development principles, project
development, and project cycle management, and the monitoring and evaluation of projects. The
training engages registered groups, and community volunteers and employs diverse approaches that
emphasize theory, practical training, and experiential learning. As this proposal is grounded in peer
leadership, peer training, and asset-based development, strategies will engage actual
community-based project work through all required stages. Groups will undergo traditional training
sessions; identify issues and practical interventions; develop relevant project proposals; secure
appropriate resources; execute implementation; monitor and evaluate project effectiveness.
