Sustainable water management and community-driven ecosystem approach promotion and improvement in Chernigiv region
The project is aimed at developing capacities of local communities and increasing the level of competence among local authorities on the rational use and protection of water resources, quality improvements of water bodies and drinking water, as well as implementing community-led ecosystem approach. Specific objective of the project is the development of recommendations for rationalization of the water bodies? usage for particular united territorial community and practical activities for the water resources quality improvement. Second project component is devoted to the development of the methodological basis for the introduction of natural-artificial bio-ameliorative complex for the prevention of biological threats to aquatic ecosystems. Finally, the project will conduct a wide information campaign to raise social responsibility of local authorities, level of environmental education and awareness of local authorities and public on the issues of rational use of water resources, safe drinking water supply, modern wastewater treatment technologies and sustainable ecosystem management.

Inovative Financial Mechanisms
The project implementation and dissemination of its results contribute to ensuring the rational use of water resources and their protection, preservation of biodiversity based on the innovative technology of natural-artificial bioamelioration of water bodies, increasing accessibility to and sustainable management of water resources and sanitation.
