Strengthen Community Forest protection and support the livelihoods of indigenous peoples in local communities.
This project is aiming at providing support to two Community Forestry who are home of Kouy IPs in sustainable manage and use of 638 ha of forestry Areas by building 3 Km of forest fire road for both CFs, place 400 cement poles as boundary demarcation, prepare tree nursery and tree planting and having regular patrolling of Community Forestry areas. In order to support IP communities to have more food security during COVID-19 pandemic, project will provide technical training on vegetable growing and fish/frog raise to 80 IPs families and provide small frogs and vegetable seeds to those family to practice after received training. In addition to that project also provide technical training on chicken raising to 20 IPs families and provide chicken seeds to those families after received training. Project will work closely with Agriculture Extension worker to provide follow up support to 140 householders to ensure that they will produce good quality of vegetables, fishes/frogs and chicken for IPs community. Marketing linkages will also part of this project. Moreover, project also raise awareness to both target communities and IPs on COVID-19 prevention and practicing Ministry of Health prevention measure. Good practices and lesson leans from implementation this project will be documented.
