Survey of Pheasants in Pakistan
Survey of Pheasants in Pakistan
The Pakistan Galliform Project is a three year project which is in the completion stages. It was executed by World Pheasant Association Pakistan with collaboration with the N.W.F.P Wildlife Department.

It has been a monitoring program aiming to measure various populations of pheasants in Hazara district of N.W.F.P. A lot of information regarding pheasant populations, habitat utilization and ecological pressure has been collected as well as annotated checklists of bird and mammal species, updating distribution and status of many species in Hazara.

Results

There are basically three types of results that have been collated.

1. Population data, bird densities have been recorded in the six sites over three years and will be statically compared and analyzed.
2. Habitat data will again, be statistically analyzed and compared to past records in similar areas or Western Himalayas.
3. Lastly, identification of biotic pressures and disturbance on the biodiversity of the areas has been collated, attempting to link the relationship of population and habitat data to levels of disturbance.
