Smart Agro-ecology to Combat with Climate Change for Adaption and Mitigation at Thaduea Village, Sayabouly District and Province
The project area is in Thaduea village, Sayabouly district, Sayabouly province. The main occupation of people here is farming, trading and tourism services. The whole village has production area of 139,52 ha, where are planting crops, grass and raising livestock. Although it has some streams flow through the Mekong and Tad Chao, however, the village is suffering to access clean drinking water, as well as water shortage for the agriculture production in dry season, livestock didn't get any vaccination, and this is causing to infectious disease; farmers still use pesticides and fertilizers in the farm and the fishpond also becomes rotten. The project aims to support and improve the soil quality for sustainably agricultural production for the poor households, which have strong links to environmental sustainability by construct the irrigation system and provide five water tanks to village; provide the sustainable livestock management training, increased resilience of agricultural production and improve the fishing pond.
